Mabel Johnson Ripley, 85, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Sam and Elie (Himo) Mathison on October 24, 1921 in Cheyenne, WY.Mabel worked as a legal secretary throughout her life at law firms in Wyoming, Hawaii, California and Colorado. She made Lake Havasu her home 24 years ago from Denver, CO. Mabel was a member of the Western Welcome Club of Arizona, serving as president in 1986; Kiwaniannes of Golden K, serving as president from 1986 to 1987; Happy Niners; Friends of the Library and Mount Olive Lutheran Church.Mabel leaves behind her beloved family; brother Elwood Mathison; granddaughter, Leslie Guajardo; four great granddaughters and step-son Ralph Ripley.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chapin Read Ripley, who she married April 24, 1971; daughter, Sharon Kay Hutchins; brothers Sverre Mathison and Hoakon Mathison and sister Helen Gusea.A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007, 12:00 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
