Arnold Wilburn Lowe, born May 16, 1913 in North Carolina, passed away January 3, 2008. He was always very lucky and died doing one of the things he enjoyed most, playing cards with close personal friends.Mr. Lowe was a very active man and until his death at the age of 94, did all of his own yard work, home shop projects, and lived a strong independent life in his own home. He was an avid sportsman. Earlier in his life he made many annual hunting and fishing trips to Canada, Alaska, as well as here in Arizona and Washington State. As a young man he won the Western Golden Gloves Welterweight boxing championship, played professional baseball in Oakland during the depression and owned and operated his own construction company for more than 30 years in Seattle, WA with his brother, "Buck" (Quentin Alonzo Lowe) aka Alfred Lowe, who preceded him in death.Married for over 55 years, he was widowed in the mid 90's by the death of his wife "Bernice" (Mary Alberta Quirk Lowe). Preceding him in death, his son Neil James Lowe and his other brother Glenn and sister Grace, some years earlier. He is survived by his son Patrick Arnold Lowe of Anderson Island, WA; grandsons Scott Judson Lowe of Spokane Valley and Kevin Patrick Lowe of Milwaukee, WI, as well as five great grandchildren.Just before he died he was singing his favorite song, "When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there".Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008, 11:00 AM at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
