Walter Lawrence Gunnison passed away February 20, 2008 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 83. He was born to Walter and Josephine (Widmar) Gunnison on December 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL.Walter married Vincetta Basile in 1947 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 32 years ago from Medina, OH. Walter was a proud veteran under the direction of the United States Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific, including China. After 40 years, Walter retired from Equifax where he was employed as an Insurance Investigator. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church and loved model railroading.Walter leaves behind his son, Walter (Jane) Gunnison Jr. of Beavercreek; granddaughter, Elaine (Daniel) Gunn of Redmond, WA; great grandsons, Zachary and Evan Gunn; sisters-in-law, Bridget Fleming and Dorothy Basile, both of Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Vincetta on April 10, 2003 and brother Richard "Bud" Gunnison.A visitation will be held Thursday, February 21, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:30 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. A visitation will also be held Friday, February 22, 2008 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
