Cecil "Bud" Longacre November 13, 1934 - February 21, 2008Bud Longacre went to his final resting place Thursday, February 21 in his home in Lake Havasu City with his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law by his side.Bud is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shiela; two children, Cory (Francine) Longacre, and Tracy Castle; three grandchildren, Megan Castle, Leah Longacre and Cameron Longacre; one great grandchild, Macesen Cecil Castle Koch and two sisters, Lois Howell and Ruby Chapman.He was born in Live Oak, California and moved to Southern California with his family as a youngster. As a young man, he was apprenticed in the Sheet Metal trade for four years. He rose through the years in his trade to Shop Superintendent and held that position for the last ten years of his working life. He retired in 1988 after 38 years in the industry.After many years of camping and water skiing on the beautiful blue waters of Lake Havasu, retirement beckoned him once again to Lake Havasu City in 1990. In retirement he enjoyed boating, fishing, and hiking and discovered a new hobby in woodcarving. His many beautiful creations are displayed throughout their home. He purchased a fifth wheel trailer and together Bud and Shiela traveled throughout the South West enjoying the Native Indian country and the beauty of the vast area.Bud will be greatly missed………….his absence leaves a huge hole in the lives of his loved ones and many friends. He will be remembered for his loving ways, wonderful sense of fun and regaling his family and friends with his large repertoire of jokes and stories.Funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Saturday March 8 at 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of his Life at the Makai Restaurant, lower level in the Island Mall.
