Barbara Ann Young "Bobbie" passed away at the age of 74 on March 22, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born to Floyd and Edith May on March 12, 1942 in Merced, California.
Bobbie married the love of her life Vance Young on March 13, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they shared 56 cherished years together. They spent most of their adult lives in Indio, California where they raised a family and made many happy memories. They re-located to Lake Havasu City in 2001.
Bobbie was a selfless person who lived to take care of others. She truly loved her family and friends. She never missed a grandchild's softball game. She gave fun nicknames to her loved ones and always had a smile for them all.
She raised cockatiels and had as many as eight at one time. She loved her birds. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved to garden.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Edith, her sister Marlene, and her great granddaughter Riley.
She is survived by her loving husband Vance Young of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, her son Keith (Betty) Young and daughter Lesli (Shawn) Burk of Indio, California, daughter Kelly James of Kingman, Arizona, brother Jack (Doris) May of Visalia, California, sisters Joyce Reynolds of Indio, California and Carol Cagel of Troup, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way and 1 great-great grandchild as well.
Bobbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00 am.
In Lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
