Beth McIntireSeptember 20, 1917 - March 11, 2008Beth was born in the small town of Gilford, MT in the home that her father built.Beth was the first of two children. Beth and her brother grew up there and Beth left at the age of nineteen to come to the area of Los Angeles, CA. Beth worked as a maid and nanny for a short while and went on to Business College for 2 years. She then went to work for a drug store call Sontag's which later changed to Rexall Drugs about 1945. She then went to work for Dart Industries as a bookkeeper doing payroll. She worked there for 33 years and retired in 1978.During her working years she married, had one daughter and later she divorced. She met Charles McIntire in 1958 and they married October 1, 1960. He had three daughters. They bought property in Meadow Valley, which they retired to in 1978. They had also bought a lot here in Lake Havasu in 1964. They had a house built in 1980 and moved here in 1985.Charles passed away in May 1988. Beth stayed here volunteering for the Kiwanis Club and at the Senior Center. She helped chart the Meals on Wheels Wednesday through Friday for 13 years.She was very involved with St. Michael's Church and Women's Club. She also bowled for quite a few years and walked everyday three to five miles, weather permitting. In the last 20 years she had also taken a few ship cruises. Beth was loved by everyone, even the people she met on the cruises. They kept in contact with each other all of the time.Her daughter and son-in-law came to Lake Havasu 3 years ago to help and live with her. Beth had been a resident of Lake Hills Inn for the last year due to her illness.Beth is survived by beloved family, daughter, Vee Ann Hamlet of Lake Havasu; step daughters, Rose Marie Heater of Quincy, CA, Sharon Lee Manning of Calhan, CO and Carol Dee McIntire of Weatherford, TX; one brother, Earl A. Nehring of Lawrence, KS; 11 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:00 AM at St. Michael's United Methodist Church. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Pastor Lyndon MasonDonations may be made in Beth's name to a charity of choice.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
