Edmond Richard Chappell, 84, passed away peacefully in Lake Havasu City, AZ; on March 12, 2008. He was born on February 14, 1924 in Guymon, OK.Ed has lived in Kansas, Colorado, California and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1977. He served in the U.S. Navy and was aboard the USS Maryland during WWII. Ed was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and past-president of this organization. He worked as a California Police Sergeant, a Polygraph Examiner, was a member of the Masons and Shrine Club. Ed enjoyed golfing, hunting, and water skiing.He is survived by his loving wife, Eva and from his prior marriage, daughter Lisa Marie Chappell of Olympia, WA; three stepsons; Greg Phipps and wife Debi, Michael A. Sands and Larry A. Sands all of California; nephew and niece, Roger and Mary Sutton of Lake Havasu City, AZ; nieces, Loretta Bradburn of Pueblo, CO; and Lena Briles and husband Elmer of Pritchet, CO.In accordance with Ed's wishes, there will be no memorial service.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405.Condolences and thoughts can be made to his family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
