Callie Lynn Wheeler went to be with the Lord and placed in His hands on March 22, 2008 at the age of 21. Callie was born to Kim and Linda (Waye) Wheeler on February 27, 1987 in Denver, CO at St. Josephs Hospital. In August of 1989, Kim, Linda, Callie and her big sister Brianna moved to Lake Havasu City.As Callie grew older she loved playing baseball, starting out playing Tee Ball. At the age of 10, Callie became a member of the Scorchers, Havasu's tournament team for girls' softball, where she was best known for her presence on the mound. Upon entering high school, she became a member of the Lady Knights playing two years of Junior Varsity softball. Callie then moved to Las Vegas to live with Brianna and was captain of the Bishop Gorman High School softball team for her final two years of high school.Callie attended her freshman year of college at the University of Nevada-Reno and then transferred to Tucson. She never could stay too far from Brianna, so she returned to Las Vegas to continue her schooling and live with her sister.Callie loved people and wanted to help everyone. Callie's smile melted hearts all around her.Callie is survived by her parents Kim and Linda Wheeler of Lake Havasu City; her sister and best friend Brianna of Las Vegas; her boyfriend Michael Steinkohl; grandmother Roxana Santorno of Denver. CO; grandfather Bud Wheeler of Nebraska; three aunts, six uncles, eleven cousins, as well as the many friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her Grandma and Grandpa Waye.A celebration of Callie's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:00 AM at Lake Havasu Baptist Church.
