Wilmer L. Lindorff, 81, passed away on April 15, 2008 at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on December 10, 1926 in Blakely, MN; to Albert and Marie (Tyreman) Lindorff.At the age of 10, Wilmer (known as Curley by his friends and family), was sent to the state school orphanage in Owatonna, MN; along with his brothers and sisters. Curley served in the U.S. Army, WWII, as a paratrooper in Company B. During his last jump, his back was broken, eventually resulting in his Honorable Discharge, November 10, 1946. Curley was a railroad man for 36 years, working for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chicago, IL; where he was known as Bill, Lindy, and Curley. He retired in 1985, spending five years as a "snow bird" at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in Lake Havasu City, AZ. There he made many friends, playing pinochle, and was often referred to as "a swell guy" among the card players. Curley and his wife then moved into town, where he enjoyed the remainder of his retirement. He will be greatly missed by both his family and many friends.Curley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose (Steffan); daughters, Susan Schipper of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Sandra Thimmig of Denver, CO; son, Michael of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Alicia, Brianna and Cory Schipper of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Lisa and Brian Thimmig of Amarillo, TX; and Borger, TX; respectively. From a family of 14 children, Curley is survived by three siblings; Everett Lindorff of Seattle, WA; and sisters, Esther King of Longview, WA; and Georgia Griffey of Seattle, WA; and also many nieces and nephews.There will be no funeral services per Curley's request.Condolences and thoughts can be made to his family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
