Linda Schafer was born on April 27, 1951, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, and peacefully left this world on April 28, 2008, after a 10-month battle with cancer.Linda graduated from Waupaca High School in 1969 and married Bruce Schafer on October 17, 1970. While living in Wisconsin they had two beautiful children, Derek and Jami. The family moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1980, and they later divorced. Linda met Bob Leuck and they enjoyed sixteen years together. Linda worked for 23 years in various positions at Animal Hospital of Havasu, where she formed lasting relationships with many clients and co-workers. She recently had to end her employment due to her illness.Nobody had a more positive, happy outlook on life than Linda. She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed dancing, being outdoors, and working out. She was a member of the Eagles Club and volunteered her time there.Linda is survived by her children, Derek (Niki) Schafer of Lake Havasu City, and Jami (Philip) Griffith of Mt. Enterprise, Texas, and her grandchildren Austin, Brandon and Jacob Schafer, and Christian and Paige Griffith. She is further survived by her sister Barbara Jensen, La Crosse, WI, and brothers, Allen Jensen, Rice Lake, WI and Larry (Ann) Jensen, Eden Prairie, MN. Also surviving are Aunt Elaine Anthony, Weyauwega, WI, Uncle Robert Gudmandsen, Baraboo, WI, Linda's very close friend, Jack Stalma, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 1st, at 2:00pm at Lietz-Fraze funeral Home in Lake Havasu. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at Linda's home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of Havasu or pancreatic cancer research are preferred.
