Buck Brown passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Havasu City on May 23, 2008. He was born Floyd Wayne Brown in Amory, Mississippi on August 29, 1936.Buck served in the US Marine Corps for 20 years, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant in 1973. He joined the Phoenix Police Department in 1978 to 1982, when he transferred to the Lake Havasu City Police Department. Buck retired from LHCPD as a detective in 1998.He was an avid fisherman, active in the pro-bass circuit, fishing competitively and as a tournament assistant director in the Red Man Series. Buck was also an accomplished pilot and enjoyed flying helicopters most of all.Buck leaves behind Helga, his wife of 34 years. He is also survived by his children, David Brown (Lori) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kim Moore of Anchorage, Alaska, Kelley Brown of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Stephanie Flenner (Darrell), of Overton, Nevada, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Buck also leaves behind his brothers, James Brown, Belton Brown, George Brown, Eugene Brown, Jerry Hall, and Johnny Hall, and many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held Friday, May 30th at Lakeview Community Church, 1699 W. Acoma Boulevard at 4pm, with a celebration of his life at Shugrue's Restaurant following immediately after.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Havasu for all the care and comfort they provided.
