Harvey John Van Hulzen, 70, passed away at his home Saturday evening after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. He was bom January 17,1938 in Edgerton Minnesota, son of Esther Van Hulzen and the late Gerrit Van Hu1zen. Harvey was a devoted husband, loving father and cherished grandfather. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and a loyal patriot. Harvey worked most of his life as an independent owner operator truck driver out of Southern California. He was best known across the country to his fellow truckers as "Wheeler Dealer". After 50 years behind the wheel, he retired in October of 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Following retirement he worked for a short period helping his daughter Holly at Arizona Water Sports. He also enjoyed watching Nascar races every Sunday. He was preceded in death by his father Gerrit Van Hulzen, his sister Greta Kruen, and his grandparents Herman & Johanna Van Hu1zen, and John & Johanna Kreun. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Carol Van Hu1zen, his daughters, Holly Hitchins of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Heidi Van Hulzen of Mira Loma, CA; Hope Rico of Burbank, CA; mother, Esther Van Hulzen of Bellflower, CA; two son in-laws, Blaine Hitchins, John Rico; brothers, Alvin Van Hulzen of Klamath Falls, OR; Gary Van Hulzen of Tulare, CA; Raymond Van Hulzen of Buhl, ID; Arvin Van Hulzen of Grants Pass, OR; sisters, Joann Van Leeuwen of Apple Valley, CA; Betty Vande Vegte of Bellflower, CA; and two granddaughters, Brooke and Beth Hitchins. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerrit Van Hulzen, sister, Greta Kruen and grandparents, Herman & Johanna Van Hulzen and John & Johanna Kruen."We love you Dad, and we will miss you".Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services celebrating Harvey's life will be held at Community Presbyterian Church 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd. on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Harvey's memory to Hospice of Havasu, P.O.
