RUTH MAE TURNEROn the evening of August 4, 2008 Ruth Mae Turner peacefully passed away in her Lake Havasu City, AZ. home. She resided in Lake Havasu City approximately 10 years. Before coming to Lake Havasu, she lived in Chino, CA. and surrounding areas for most of her adult life. In their Chino, CA. home, she and her husband raised 5 children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hensley Turner in 1986.She was a life long employee of Owens Brockway Glass Company, where she worked for 40 plus years, at the Pomona, CA. plant. She served as a Union President for local #34 for a multitude of years. Ruth also was part of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pomona Aerie #2215 and also was past Madam President of her chapter.For the past 4 years, after breaking her hip and staying at Havasu Nursing Home for a short time, she became a volunteer and organized the Saturday BINGO for all of the residents that wanted to participate.She is survived by 4 daughters, Cathy Vallejo of LHC, Mary Turner of Chino, CA, Debra (JR) Miller of Las Vegas, Linda (William) Parkins of LHC; 1 son Patrick (Patricia) Turner of New Jersey. She also had 6 grandchildren, Christy Turner, Angie (Brock) Spillane, Stephen White, Christopher Parkins, Pearl Vallejo, Heather Parkins and 5 great-grandchildren.Ruth was a member of Gods Grace Church in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She will be greatly missed by all that she touched.Services will be held Sunday, August 10, 2008, 10:00 AM at God's Grace Church, 1535 El Camino, LHC. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, August 10 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.Inurnment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA at a later date.Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
