Dorothy "Lonnie" BlumeLonnie was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1941. She was born to Dorothy Viola Smith and Carmen Urban Smith. She grew up in Arnold, PA. She was a popular cheerleader at the local high school and was involved in several clubs. She moved to Canoga Park, California in 1953 with her Mom Dorothy, her sister Michaela and her step-father Lester Thomas. She married Elbert (Al) Blume on October 4, 1957 and lived in Simi Valley California for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Al, her mother and stepfather Dorothy and Lester Thomas.She is survived by her sister Michaela with her nephews Keith and Glen. She was also survived by her four children, Elbert Jr. (Corky) Blume and wife Susan, Carrie Law, Vicki Kruse and husband Marty, Dawn Hubbard and husband Frank. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren. Bryan and wife Christina, Matthew, Jessica and husband Jon, Megan, Krysten, Mitchell, Sheri, Corey, Bobby and Frankie and her 5 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Austin, Julianna, Michael and Alexis.Later in life she moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where she enjoyed her retirement years with her husband Al and her many friends at the Elks Lodge. She then moved to Bullhead City and was busy with friends in the Reserve at Fox Creek. She will be remembered as a loving and giving person, a faithful wife of 47 years, and a nurturing mother who was successful at creating a loving home for her entire family.She fought a valiant fight these last few years with COPD. She rarely complained and always maintained a positive attitude. To this day, Christmas at Al and Lonnie's was among the fondest memories of our collective lives together.We will all miss her greatly! You can rest Lonnie! You are with Jesus.A visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2008, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Memorial services will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2008, 11:00 AM.
