Obituary of Marie McCAMEY

The Lord Jesus welcomed home one of His own with the homegoing of Marie McCamey. After a short battle with cancer, Marie L. McCamey, 92, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, 9/27/08. She was born, Jan. 14, 1916, in St Marys, PA and graduated from high school in Bradford, PA. She married Robert McCamey in 1937, lovingly raised and supported her family; and they lived in Ohio and Kentucky prior to retiring in Lake Havasu City in 1978. Marie was honored as volunteer of the year in 1983 in the Lake Havasu City Senior Volunteer Program and was one of the founders and an active member of Bethany Bible Church. Throughout her life Marie was an active Christian, serving as Sunday School Teacher, encouraging and corresponding with missionaries, mentoring other Christians, and visiting shut-ins. She lived a life in Christ and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her easy smile, words of wisdom, and warm embrace will be missed by all who loved her.Marie is survived by her husband, and junior high sweetheart of 71 years, Robert McCamey; her son, Richard McCamey of Folsom, CA; and a sister Barbara Potts of Indianapolis, IN. She also is survived by a granddaughter, Michelle McCamey and many friends.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a memorial fund at Bethany Bible Church.
