Barry Lee Wilsey was born April 7, 1988 in Los Alamitos California to Bob and Karen Wilsey. He was tragically killed in a car accident on November 2, 2008.Barry packed a lot of living into his twenty years. He became a father to Summer Nicole when he was fifteen. He went to Chicago at sixteen and worked in a carnival. He went to Utahat seventeen to live with a friend and do construction work. It was in Utah that Barry signed up with the marines. Barry entered marine boot camp in June of 2007 and graduated in August as a Private, it was a huge accomplishment. His family all went down to San Diego for his graduation and were so proud of him! He was very proud to be a Marine! After graduating he studied communications at Twenty Nine Palms, California before going to further training at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq in January until the tragic events of November 2nd.Barry thoroughly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was a bright, confident young man with a quick mind and a readiness to laugh and have fun. Everyone who knew Barry recognized the special glow he had that attracted so many people to him. He was well thought of amidst a large circle of friends and remained a loyal and devoted friend.Barry loved his family. Although he became a father at such a young age, he was a devoted and responsible daddy. He reveled in being a father to Summer Nicole and she idolized him. There are countless stories about the crazy times he had with his three brothers. He delighted in spending time with his extended family too and had many fond memories of playing with his cousins and spending holidays with grandparents, aunts and uncles.Barry loved God from a young child and was determined to go to Sunday school when he was only five. He loved his God and was a staunch believer in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He encouraged his friends and family to trust in Jesus and depend on the Bible for guidance in life.This young man's beautiful life touched so many who will deeply miss him. His passing has left a huge space. Thankfully, he has also left a wealth of memories unique only to Barry Lee Wilsey.Barry is survived by his parents, Robert E. and Karen Marie Wilsey of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter, Summer Nicole Wilsey of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brothers, Nicholas, Brandon and Brad Wilsey all of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandmothers, Georgene Davies of Santa Ana, CA; and Irma Wilsey of Lake Havasu City, AZ.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Stonebridge Christian Fellowship on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Words of wisdom and inspirations will be expressed by Pastor Neill Bettrue. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial GardensCondolences and thoughts can be made to his family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
