Samuel S. Corcetti passed away on December 22, 2008 at the age of 95 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Sam was born on December 24, 1912 in Groge, PA to Massimino and Amalia (Depolis) Corcetti.As a young man, Sam started his own shoe shop in North Vandegrift, PA. He also had a novelty shop in his home. His shoe shop was wiped out in the flood of 1936. He then set up shop in Leechburg, PA where he not only fixed shoes, but musical instruments as well. He learned to play the accordion and mouth-organ as well as other instruments. He started his own band under the name of "Johnny Martini". Sam and his brother Anthony, in search of a warmer climate, moved to Florida. He set up shop again under the name of "Sam's Music Shop". In 1979, Sam moved to Lake Havasu City where he set up "Sam's Novelty Shop" in his home.Sam was a musician most of his life and a technician. He loved to fix things and enjoyed traveling and dancing.Sam is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Joaquin of Hollywood, FL and Karen Sue Ferrero of Vandergrift, PA; brother, Louis Corcetti of Florida; sisters, Virginia Cammisa of Butler, PA, Caroline Abraham of Vandergrift, PA, Lucille Veltz of Phoenix, AZ, Carmella Shirley of Ford City, PA; grandchildren, Taralee Ann Torres of Florida and Chad Ferrero of Vandergrift, PA and great grandchildren, Noah and Aaron.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena; brothers, John, Anthony and Joseph Corcetti and sister, Marian Moorehead.A visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 29, 2008, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
