John Michael Knoll, 88, passed away on December 23, 2008 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on September 28, 1920 in Glendive, MT; to John M. and Appalonia (Schlosser) Knoll Sr.John moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 27 years ago from Glendive, MT; where he was the owner/operator of Knoll's Ready Mix Sand and Gravel for 40 years. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army WWII., and was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus. John was also a founding member of West Glendive Fire Department and fire chief for 26 years. He enjoyed walks around the London Bridge and Rotary Park and also enjoyed playing cards with his friends.John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary; sons, Jim Knoll (Susan) of Tucson, AZ; Mike Knoll (Joanna) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters, Laurie Olson (Mark) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Paula Alston (Tom) of Christiansburg, VA; Kristy Weprin (Dan) of Lafayette, CO; brother, Pete Knoll of Glendive, MT: 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A Rosary will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Father Chauncey Winkler will be officiating and military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. and American Legion.
