Obituary of Wayne DOYLE

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wayne J. Doyle, Sr.After a long courageous battle with cancer, our precious son and brother, Wayne, 51, was unexpectedly called home on Monday, February 2, 2009. We rejoice in knowing that he is at peace with God.Wayne was born on July 13, 1957 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Rockville, MD in November 1962. He moved to Lake Havasu City in November 1975 and took up residence here with his family. Wayne immediately was hired as a cook then chef at the English Village Pub which was the beginning of his career as cook and chef at many local restaurants including Golden Horseshoe, Krystals, the Ramada Inn, the Pioneer, and Winnellos, then finally served up tasty steak dinners at Shugrues for eight of his remaining years in the food and restaurant business.Wayne is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Shotwell and his devoted step-father, Kent Shotwell; his loving sister, Donna Doyle and devoted brothers, Larry and Kevin Doyle. His sister, Diane Doyle Murphy preceded him in death, a victim of a disastrous plane crash at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia in October of 1978. He was the much beloved uncle of Dabrien Murphy, Mathew, Stacey, Shawn Doyle, David Doyle and Phillip Morris. Wayne's daughter Lauren Doyle and his son Wayne, Jr. were his most precious joys in his life. Wayne's love for his family and especially for his closest friend Karen (Moser) Doyle will be locked up in his heart throughout eternity. Wayne's passions were his Basset Hounds Missy and Baby. His music and writing talents were his most enjoyable past times. Singing, whether on stage, at weddings, or parties accompanied or unaccompanied with renditions of his own on his guitar became the hallmark of his life-long music contributions.Wayne will be missed deeply by his family and all of us whose lives he touched; but it was his time to be reborn into a life free of pain. Dearest Wayne, we will always cherish your memory and the special times we had with you until we are together again.A visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. The funeral mass will take place Saturday, February 7, 2009, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Praise Fellowship or a charity of your choice.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
