Obituary of Edward KURTZ

Edward Henry Kurtz, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; at the age of 75. He was born on April 9, 1933 in Louisville, KY; to Edward and Edna (Lotz) Kurtz.Edward proudly served his country the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 10 years ago from Minneapolis, MN; and became a member of the Eagles, Elks and Moose Lodge. It was at the Elks and Eagles where he worked in the kitchen and became affectionately known as "Spaghetti Eddie". Edward also enjoyed woodworking, especially building windmills, and tried his hand at photography. Edward is survived by his children, James Edward Kurtz and Heather Mary Kurtz; sister, Ellyn Scarmardo and her husband Sam of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brothers, Earl David Kurtz of Goose Creek, SC; Emmett Carl Kurtz of Surprise, AZ; and Edwin John Kurtz of Kansas City, AZ.A Memorial Service will be held at the Eagles Aerie 4299, 1561 Marlboro Dr. on Friday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be presented by the members of the V.F.W.
