Barbara Jean "Jeanne" SloanJune 19, 1933 - February 6, 2009Jeanne Sloan was 75 years old when she passed away on February 6, 2009. Jeanne was born in Los Angeles, California to James and Mary (Gustafson) Logan. She attended Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles and Gardena High School.She married Richard "Dick" Sloan after a two month courtship. They were married July 15, 1950 in Los Angeles. Just three months after they were married, Dick was called back into the Navy Reserves and they lived at the Port Hueneme Naval Base. After Dick was discharged, Jeanne and Dick lived in Los Angeles, Torrance, Placentia and Mira Loma, California before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1990.Jeanne enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, playing games with friends, Bible study, and attending Calvary Baptist Church. She was an avid fan of baseball, football and NASCAR.Jeanne is survived by Dick, her husband of almost 59 years, and by her son Rod (Linda); grandson Ryan; daughter Lori Sloan, all of Lake Havasu City; her daughter Linda Dicke (Bruce) and grandson Ken Sloan of Helena, Montana; and by her sister Jolene Yerdon (Jim) of Valley Center, California.Jeanne was a 25-year survivor of breast cancer and battled colon cancer for the past 2 ½ years. Memorial services will be held on February 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S. McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City. In lieu of flowers, Jeanne requested that a donation be made to Hospice of Lake Havasu City, PO Box 597., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
