Fred G. Redmon, born in Yakima, Washington to Fred and Sadie Redmon, died unexpectedly February 17, 2009 in Lake Havasu. Arizona.Fred grew up in Yakima through the nineteen thirties and forties and graduated from the University of Washington in 1948. At the advent of the Korean War he was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the Marine Corp. Fred served with distinction and was awarded a silver star and two purple hearts. The experiences and relationships formed during that time endured throughout his life.His sister Dora preceded him in death in 1979. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of Lake Havasu, Arizona; a brother, Nelson (Karen) of Malaga, Washington; his children: Fred (Anne), Christine Crowder (Art), Kim Slaker, Brian Willis (Snezhana), Frank Willis (Cynthia) and Candy Nielsen. He will be missed by twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild plus numerous nieces and nephews.The love he expressed in his strength and directness will be greatly missed by all those he mentored and those who had the opportunity to be influenced by him.Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009, 2:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.Donations may be made in Fred's name, payable to G-3-1 Woman's Auxillary and mailed to Treasurer Paul Price, 1109 Lavista Way, Louisville, KY 40219.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
