James Earl High passed away March 5, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 84. He was born to James and Goldie (Self) High on December 14, 1924 in Wirt, OK.James worked for Climax Molybdenum Co. in Leadville, CO as a miner for 28 years. He served proudly under the direction of the United State Marine Corps during World War II earning a Purple Heart for wounds received at the battle of Iwo Jima. Following his honorable discharge from the service, James married Dorothy Allen on February 14, 1948. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, Masons, VFW and the 4th Marine Division Association.James leaves behind his beloved family, two sons, Mark (Peggy) High of Gunnison, CO and Paul (Kathryn) High of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Dorothea Trask of Pueblo, CO and three grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
