Robert Neil Gunvalson, 83, passed away on March 11, 2009 at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on December 3, 1925 in Spring Valley, WI; to Hans Christian and Gurina Marie (Anderson) Gunvalson. Robert moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; from Waukegan, IL. He worked in receiving at McCulloch Corp. in Lake Havasu City, AZ; for 14 years. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy WWII, Korean and Vietnam era and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9401. He enjoyed panning for gold and loved all sports, but most of all baseball was his favorite and the Diamondbacks were his favorite team.Robert is survived by his brother, Russell L Gunvalson and wife Idelle of Rochester, MN; sister, Ky Gilbride of Springfield, VA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Laverne, in 1993.A Celebrations of Robert's life will be held at the V.F.W. Post 9401 on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 9401.Donations can be made in Robert's name to the V.F.W.
