Obituary of Dolores MORRISON

Please share a memory of Dolores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dolores Mae Morrison 76, lovingly known as "The Dixie Belle Dancer" passed away quietly April 17 at her home in Lake Havasu City with her immediate family at her side. She was born to Wilbur and Violet Wasmer in Paterson, New Jersey on August 25, 1932. She leaves her husband George, whom she met and married in Fairlawn, N.J. in 1953. They and their three children moved to Woodland Hills, CA in 1960.All of her married life she was a very loving wife and caring mother for her three children and eventual grandchildren. After the Northridge earthquake in 1994, Dolores and George made a new life for themselves in Lake Havasu; filled with wonderful new friends and companions. Dolores had memberships in the Lake Havasu Yacht Club, Western Welcome, Hospital Auxiliary, Marine Corps League, Red Hats, Elks, Eagles and most favorite of all, "The Famous Dixie Belle Dancers". Her children and grand kids loved to hear her talk about the numerous places she performed and can fondly remember when the Dixie Belles performed in Las Vegas. "She had a great pair of legs even at 76" said one of her family members who wants to remain anonymous. LOL.Since retiring to Lake Havasu City in 1994, Dolores and George spent a lot of time traveling all over the world. She truly had an incredible life of parties, laughter and love with an amazing number of friends.Dolores was avid about her cleaning and particularly had a passion for not only a clean house, but also a top of the line vacuum cleaner. This gave her kids and grandkids a great laugh. Her kids knew when "mom was coming to town to visit" they would get their house cleaned for free.Dolores will be remembered for her wonderful smile, kind heart, great sense of humor, love for life, and her affectionate personality and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.Dolores leaves her husband George, their three children and their spouses: Jill and husband Fred Guerber, Scott and wife Nancy Morrison, Bob and wife Lanette; her sister Patricia Hoadley and husband Doug of Bessemer, AL; and her 7 grandchildren, Brendon, Ashley, Caitlin, Nicole, Dillon, Scotty and Jillian who all loved her very much. After a private family memorial, there will be a memorial service held in her honor at the Lake Havasu Yacht Club on Saturday, May 9 at 1 pm. Thank you all for the love and affection that you have shown her. In lieu of flowers, Dolores requested that donations be made to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S. Lake Havasu Ave., P.O.
