Leo E. HuffmanLake Havasu City, AZOctober 15, 1919 to April 19, 2009Leo Huffman was a resident of Lake Havasu since he retired from the L.A. Flood Control District as an electrician in 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Chief Radio Operator aboard the USS Bismarck Sea. His ship was sunk during the night of February 21, 1945 by two Kamikazes within two minutes of each other while they were participating in the Iwo Jima operation. Leo always enjoyed reuniting with the survivors of the USS Bismarck Sea each year at various locations in the United States.Leo attended Pomona High School in California where he met his sweetheart, and soon to be wife, Evalyn (Doctor) Huffman. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Huffman; two nephews, Rand Huffman and Russ Neher, and their wives Vicky and Mary respectively; two nieces, Francie Lorey & Donna Weaver; six great-nieces, four great nephews; six great-great nieces & five great-great nephews.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com
