WALTER EDWARD DE LOZIERWalter Edward De Lozier passed away on May 7, 2009 at his home in Lake Havasu City at the age of 87. Walter was born on May 28,1921in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in the home of his grandparents, Press and Ella Ham, to Roy Edward and Lucille (Jones) DeLozier.Walter attended Liberty Grade School and was Student Body President in 1929. He attended Tulsa Central High School, graduating in 1939. While attending Tulsa University, he worked in the Exploration Department (Paleo Lab) for the Shell Oil Company.Walter proudly served his country during World War II, in the United States Navy, as a Machinist Mate First Class. He served aboard the destroyers USS Parker and the USS McLanahan, stationed in North Africa, Tunisia, Sicily, Salerno-Anzio and France.Walter retired as manager of the Kansas Geological Society in Wichita, Kansas. He was National Director and life member of the American Bowling Congress, President of The Wichita Bowling Association, Director of the Kansas Bowling Association, President Cosmopolitan Club-Downtown Wichita and Charter President Air Capital Cosmopolitan Club.Walter enjoyed Mother Nature as she changes the seasons and always enjoyed the wagging of a dog's tail.Walter is survived by his wife of 64 years Domenica of Lake Havasu City; his daughter Donna Beth Ewing, who was the joy of his life, of Lake Havasu City, her husband Dave Ewing; grandsons Seth Brown of Colorado, Brandon Ewing of Arizona, Travis Ewing of Kansas and Sean Ewing of Arizona and great grandchildren Alex Nicole Brown-Weast and Cole Joseph Brown-Weast of Kansas, Jessica Ewing of Kansas and Halie, Lauren and Brooke Ewing of Lake Havasu City.Memorial services will be held on Thursday May 28th, at 3:00 PM at University Congregational Church, 9209 East 29th St. N., Wichita, Kansas.In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's name can be made to the Cosmopolitan Club-Downtown or the Cosmopolitan Club-Air Capital.Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were entrusted to the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
