Gary Lea KilpatrickAugust 23, 1952 - May 7, 2009"Pioneer" Gary L. Kilpatrick, 56, of Lake Havasu City passed away May 7, 2009.Gary is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen; son, Clinton Kilpatrick and Robby; sisters, Bea Hill and Cindy; brothers, Teddy (Liz) Kilpatrick, Ricky and Monte Jones; two grandchildren, Clinton and Breck and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Detroit, MI and moved to Lake Havasu City 40 years ago. A plasterer by trade, he was the owner of Kilpatrick Stucco & Plastering Inc. for 20 years. He loved coaching kids in soccer and baseball for many years. His "motto" to kids was "Always do the best you can do", letting his teams know that win or lose, if they did the best they could do, he was proud of them.He was an avid softball player, enjoying local league play and many years of playing tournament ball. Some of his nicknames were "Cochise", "Special K" and "G-Man". Gary was someone who "had your back" and you wanted on your side. Moving here in 1969 with a population less than 3000, where everyone was "family", he loved that he knew everyone in the town. He will be truly missed by all his family and so, so many friends. Ask anyone who knew him and they will have "one crazy story" to tell.Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan and Betty Kilpatrick; brother, Wayne Jones; nephew, Breck Allen Kilpatrick and children, James Leland and Katrina Faith Kilpatrick.A Memorial serivce will be held Monday, May 11, 2009, 4:30 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.
