Obituary of Eugene BRYANT

Remembering Eugene Bryant from Havasu Lake, CA. Eugene was born in Ripley, MS on June 5, 1936 and passed away May 9, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1955. Some of his fondest memories were during the years he lived in Ripley where he developed his tremendous strength, courage and integrity. After leaving Ripley shortly after graduation from Ripley High, he joined the Air Force. He always said that you can take the boy out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the boy. After the Air Force, he ultimately settled in California where he met Judith Kaye Howe and married on April 22, 1967. Eugene and Judy gave birth to Michael Eugene in 1968 and Jill Marie in 1970.He lived most of his adult life in Covina, CA where he and Judy raised their two children. Eugene worked in the grocery industry up until 1984 when he retired and in 1992, the first of four granddaughters began gracing his life. He and Judy permanently moved to Lake Havasu in the late 1990's where he enjoyed relaxing on his porch and watching his granddaughters grow in to amazing young people.In a recent trip back to Ripley for a 50 year reunion of the Ripley High football team, he was able to rekindle old friendships and introduce his son to a community like no other.Eugene will be greatly missed by his loving wife of over 40 years, his family, the community of Lake Havasu and the many friends that have touched his life through the years.Eugene is survived by his wife Judy, son Michael, daughter Jill, daughter-in-law Pam, son-in-law Steve, sister Bernice Davis, mother-in-law Florence Cooper and granddaughters Brittany, Courtney, Samantha and Tatum.Condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com
