Wallace Carroll Hawkins passed away May 28, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 80. He was born to Douglas and Loretta (Vanderwood) Hawkins on September 23, 1928.Wallace served proudly under the direction of the United States Army during World War II. He was a long time resident of Ely, NV where he was a school teacher for White Pine County School District for 30 plus years. Wallace was the conductor of the Ely grade school band. Both he and the band were well known and highly respected.Wallace leaves behind his beloved family, wife, Shirley Hawkins of Lake Havasu; son, Brett Hawkins of Nevada; daughter Paula Marrujo of Fallon, NV; one brother Sherman Hawkins and three grandchildren.Graveside services will be held at Ely Cemetery on Friday, June 5, 2009, 1:00 pm.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family to www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
