Evelyn Burns Davies, a very special lady, age 93, went to be with the Lord on June 20,2009. She was born September 4, 1915, in Albany, New York to Donald and Helen (Davis) Fry.She met her husband, Charles Davies in Albany, New York and was married in 1936. To this union five children (three boys and two girls) were born. Charles preceded her in death in 1982.Evelyn and Charles moved from Albany, New York to West Covina,California in1954. She worked for AT&T Telephone Company in the directory department. Later she taught piano and organ lessons for many years.Evelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was re-baptized on September 24,1995 and was a faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.Evelyn is survived by two sons, Gene Davies and Don (Marilyn) Davies of Southern California; two daughters, Edna (Charles) Owen and Sharon Davies of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, a niece, Donna Steinwehr of Monrovia, California, a nephew Ed (Christi) Fry of West Covina, California, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Davies and brothers, Chester and Edward Fry.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, 21 Riviera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Memorial service will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, 113 N. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Robert Greene will be officiating.Memorial contributions can be made in Evelyn's name to your favorite charity.Thoughts and condolences can be made to her family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
