Catherine Elizabeth Gibson passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the age of 89. She was born on September 30, 1919 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Edward and Elsie (Roland) Swartz.Catherine and her husband Ray moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 22 years ago from Anaheim, CA. She loved to watch baseball, every year looking forward to opening day and was an avid fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks. But Catherine's most important role was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.Catherine is survived by her four sons, Ron Gibson and wife Miki of Princeton, TX; Kevin Gibson of Mesa, AZ; Brian Gibson and wife Tamra of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and Larry Gibson and wife Mary of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister, Elsie May Howell of Rio Rancho, NM; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Walter Gibson, who passed away in October of 1991.Graveside services will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, today at 2:00 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Rev.
