Obituary of De Gloria

Gloria Lee De Cuir passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; at the age of 82. She was born on January 22, 1927 in Nashville, TN; to Paul and Verda (Byars) Appleton.Prior to moving to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 12 years ago, Gloria and her husband Calvin made Downey, CA; their home, where Gloria worked for Rockwell as a blueprint clerk.Gloria's biggest passion was music, being a singer herself at one time. She introduced the love of singing and dancing to her daughters, Toni and Elizabeth. They danced for many years and passed the passion on to their daughters. Among her other hobbies, Gloria enjoyed painting- especially landscapes. She had a talent for redecorating, liked to play dominos and quarter video poker, loved to travel and was referred to as the "Queen of Shopping." Gloria was member of the Western Welcome and was a Red Hat Lady. She will be deeply missed by her family and those who have come to know her.Gloria is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, Calvin De Cuir; daughters, Toni De Cuir of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Elizabeth Tabb of Placentia, CA; son, Joseph De Cuir of Downey, CA; grandchildren, Tara Crawford, Ayse Vurgun, Daniel De Julio and nephew Jerry Boyce and his wife Connie. She was preceded in by her son, Charles De Cuir and sister, Betty Sills.Rosary will be said for Gloria on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be held, also at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Dr. Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86403Condolences and thoughts can be made to her family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
