RONALD SOUTAR DENHAM
Ronald Soutar Denham passed away in Lake Havasu City on January 23rd 2014, he was born in Dundee, Scotland on June 18th 1929. He served in the British Royal Navy in Plymouth, England where he met and married his wife Beth in 1950 and resided in Plymouth before immigrating to the USA in 1952 with their son Stewart Denham. They lived in New Jersey for several years and then moved to Hunter, New York where they opened a butcher shop, Hunter Tannersville Meat Market. They had their daughter, Elizabeth Denham in 1962. He was a volunteer firefighter and was dedicated to his community.
Ron was a kind gentle soul who thought of other people first and was dedicated to his wife. He loved children over the years and was always willing to open his heart and home to them. He was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for many years.
In 1978 they visited Lake Havasu City to see the London Bridge and the English Village. They decided to move to Lake Havasu City to be closer to their heritage and where he continued his career as a butcher at several local grocery stores. He was a member of the Lake Havasu Scottish Society and enjoyed playing the bagpipes, he was also active in the BMX Association.
Ron is survived by loving wife Beth Denham of 63 years, his 2 children Stewart Denham and Elizabeth Welch and their spouses Wanda and Dennis. He also leaved behind four grandchildren, Dusty Welch in Redondo Beach, CA, Caitlin Welch in Lake Havasu City, AZ, Bonnie Denham in Vacaville, CA and Jessie Denham in Red Bluff, CA. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren Hailey McDonald in Vacaville, CA and Harper Cabaniss in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
He is also survived by his sister Ann Sciarrillo, in Hunter, NY and his brother Jack and his wife Ann Denham, in Brick, NJ. He also has numerous nephews and nieces both here and internationally. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Johnann in Hoboken, NJ.
