Robert Julius Carlsen passed away October 28, 2009 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 86. He was born to Thorbjorn and Lillian (Morison) Carlsen on January 20, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY.Robert served his country proudly under the direction of the United States Navy during World War II. While serving, he was an Aviation Metal Smith First Class. Robert was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theatre Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a past commander of the VFW Post #1240 and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed being an amateur radio operator, a pilot, an inventor and he loved to ski. Robert was also Captain of the Crestone Baca Volunteer Fire Department, an E.M.T. and an ambulance driver. Robert leaves behind his beloved wife, Beth Carlsen, who were married on December 11, 2002 He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
