James A. Nafsey went home to the Lord on November 17, 2009 at the age of 81. He was born to James and Mary (Roome) Nafsey on May 25, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY.Jim served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1945 through 1947. He continued serving as a New York City Police Officer for 21 years. Jim and Johnnie moved to Lake Havasu City in 1978. Jim leaves behind his son, Jim (Shannon) Nafsey; daughter, Susan (Tony) Hatzis; sister, Mary Otten; grandson, James Nafsey; granddaughter, Damaris Nafsey and nephews, Gary Otten, Steven Otten and their families. He was a loving and wonderful father. He always wanted to be remembered as a great guy.We love you and miss you. We take comfort in knowing you are with the Lord and together with mom again. We know we will all be together soon. As you always said, "no Irish goodbyes".He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia "Johnnie" Nafsey on January 26, 2006.A scripture service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life, all to be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
