Gerald Neal Sigler passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 at his residence, with his family by his side. Jerry as he was known to his family and friends, was born on January 30, 1927 in Home Gardens, CA; to Wesley and Leona (Flippen) Sigler.On his 17th, birthday, January 30, 1944, Jerry entered the United State Navy, proudly serving his country until May 16, 1946. He was recalled during the Korean Conflict onFebruary 13, 1951 and was honorably discharged on June 5, 1952.In 1954, Jerry went to work U.S. Steel as an engineer, retiring after 27 years in 1981. He then went to work for Ameron Corp. as a manufacturing engineer for 6 years. Jerry was also active in city politics for the city of Buena Park, CA. He spent 19 years serving on various boards and assisting in many functions. He became a member of the city council and served 2 terms as mayor Pro Tem and Mayor. Jerry retired once again in 2002 and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ.Among his many hobbies, Jerry enjoyed go kart racing in California. During these races, Jerry saw the need for an ambulance at the races and started up an ambulance company providing medical services at these special events. He started with one ambulance, building it up to 7. He also enjoyed off roading in his jeep, boating and camping in his RV.Jerry was an active member of the Noon Lions and the Elks in Buena Park and became a member of the Eagles in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene.Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Sue Sigler; daughters, Valerie M. Rock of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Holly D.G. Molnar of Los Alamitos, CA; Cynthia S. Krahn and her husband John of Riverside, CA; Tamerah L. Sigler of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister, Barbara J. Walker and her husband Virgil of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and grandchildren, Tapatha Rock, Miranda S. Krahn, John Robert Krahn III, Brittney Molnar, Brandon Molnar and Tiannah B.L. Sigler.Graveside services will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor John Sweeney from the Church of the Nazarene will provide words of comfort and inspiration. Military honors will be carried out by the V.F.W.
