Dora Mae Otten Spencer, age 80, passed away November 24, 2009,while surrounded by her loving family in Lake Havasu" Arizona. She was born on December 4, 1928 in Kenilworth, UT; to Glen J. Otten and Dora Larsen.Dora Mae married Ross J. Spencer on July 17, 1946 in Payson, UT; and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and she always felt it was a privilege and blessing to serve in many callings and capacities for her church and community. When she was 11 years old, Dora Mae moved with her parents and siblings to Salem, UT; where she attended schools in Salem and Spanish Fork, UT. She worked at Smith's Food King in Salt Lake City and for Mel Hanks & Sons in Salem, UT; for 14 years. In 1988 she moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; where she worked for her son and daughter-in-law in the flooring business until she was diagnosed with cancer in 1998. Mom expressed her deep love and respect for her faithful, supportive, always-at-her-side. Sweetheart husband. She cherished and was dedicated to her precious children, grandchildren and great grands, and she always loved and appreciated her extended family, and valued her old and new friends. She was happiest when doing for her family, whether it was cooking, sewing or making a wonderful home and she was always concerned for the well-being of others. In her later years, she felt blessed and grateful for the love, respect, care and closeness our family gave to her and Dad and each other. Mom expressed how very grateful she was for her angel daughters, sons, and sister Katie, for the many hours of love, support and encouragement throughout the years with all their loving nursing care to get through the tough times. The blessings and good times out merited the adversities.Dora Mae is survived by her loving husband Ross of' 63 years; six wonderful children, Gayliene (Bill) Lund, Eddie (Marnell) Spencer, Sherrie (Vennie) Kraync, Kathy Spencer Stimpson, Chris Spencer, Lori (Frank) Pugliese; the best sister, Katie (Kay) Walker; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and expecting 2 great-great-grandchildren and one more great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law, Lynn Stimpson.Mom wanted to give special thanks and great appreciation to Dr's. Wrona, O'Neill, Chauhan, Cunning, and all the great nurses in Lake Havasu at the Chemo Lab, Surgery Center, and hospital for all the years of exceptional and professional care. Love and thanks to her special friend and nurse Angela, her other angel. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Havasu, and care givers, Haylee Y. and Farrah K."Children I love you more than words can say, Mom''.Funeral services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary. 1950 E.10600 S Sandy, Utah on Tuesday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and relatives at the mortuary Tuesday, one hour prior to services. Internment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.Arrangements placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, Utah.
