Obituary of Clyde MORGAN

Clyde Aaron Morgan, a long time resident of Lake Havasu City, AZ; passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the age of 97. He was born on February 25, 1912 in Mena, AR; to Richard and Mattie (Barrett) Morgan.Following high school graduation, Clyde went into the heavy equipment field as a mechanic. In 1994, while working for Morris-Knudson, Clyde aided in the war effort asa maintenance foreman, building runways in the Aleutian Islands, until 1946. After returning to the states, Clyde remained working in the heavy equipment field and most recently worked for DC Spear Construction CompanyClyde and his wife Susie moved to Arizona from Battiest, OK; in 1940 and relocated to Lake Havasu City, in 1964. They became charter and active members of the FirstSouthern Baptist Church in1965. Following his retirement, Clyde and Susie enjoyed traveling to Whitehorse Lake and Mormon Lake in their RV and would ride all day longon their Quads with their dog, Chip.Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Susie; sons, Don Morgan of Tucson, AZ; Dan Morgan of Oklahoma; daughter, Lois Ruiz of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister,Oma Splawn; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard and Orval Morgan; sisters, EttaMcKeaver, Ima Lalena and Rose Morgan.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church on Friday,December 4 ,2009 at 10:00 a.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be offered by Dr. Rev. Bob Greene.
