Obituary of Ottilie FINSTERWALDER

Ottilie Finsterwalder passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at her residence in Lake Havasu City, AZ; at the age of 103. She was born on May 20, 1906 in Obergriessbach, Bavaria, Germany and was one of 9 children born to Mr.& Mrs. Michael Plank.Ottilie married Johann Finsterwalder and together they raised 4 children, 2 sons, and 2 daughters. She survived both world wars and came to the United States at the age of 88. Mom always placed the well being of her family ahead of her own and was a very loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; with her daughter, Lotte and enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family.Ottilie is survived by her son; Johann "Hans" Finsterwalder and his wife Ann; daughters Liselotte Hamm and husband Joseph Squillace; Hilde Dampier and husband Richard as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Johann Finsterwalder and son, Joseph Finsterwalder.A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Father Chauncey will be offering words of comfort and inspiration.Condolences and thoughts can be made to her family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
