Obituary of Richard SMITH

Richard Thomas Smith passed away January 26, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 64. He was born on July 4, 1945 in Waukegan, IL.Dick, as he was known to his family and friends made Lake Havasu his home nine years ago. He formerly lived in Gurnee, IL and Port Orchard, WA. He married his beloved bride, Sandra on June 23, 2007. Throughout his life he was a journeyman union plumber. Dick served proudly under the direction of United States Navy serving as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed riding his Harley, enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors and loved country music. Dick was an avid fisherman and had fun setting fishing records with his son. Dick was a good friend to many. He was a generous and loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Sandra Smith of Lake Havasu; sons, William Thomas Smith of Middleburg, FL, Richard Blaine Smith, Michael Smith and Blain Smith all of Lake Villa, IL; daughters, Debra Ann Smith of Union Grove, WI and Sandra Lynn Smith of Clanton, AL; father, Uel Smith of Vancouver, WA; brother, Dennis L. (Jane) Smith Gurnee, IL; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Monette of Vancouver, WA and Karen (Jon) Haugstad of Woodland, WA. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Smith A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Scripture services and military honors will follow at 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.
