Edgar Allen Minter passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; at the age of 89. He was born on January 17, 1921 in Beggs, OK; to Edgar and Hazel (Shelton) Minter.Edgar moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 20 years ago from Southern California. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1939, just prior to WWII. Edgar proudly served his country for 6 years and was an instructor pilot. He was honorably discharged after attaining the rank of Lieutenant. Following his military service, Edgar returned to Southern California and went to work for E & L Association in Long Beach, CA; as a steamfitter, a position he held for 35 years.Edgar is survived by his brother; Doug Minter of Carson City, NV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia, who passed away in Orange County, CA; in 1996 and his sister, Frankie, who passed away in Medford, OR; on March 31, 2008.A memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Past Mel Soderberg.Condolences and thoughts can be made to his brother at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
