Robert "Bob" Dietz died at his home on February 13, 2010. He was born on February 12, 1930 in Syracuse, New York to Mildred and Frederick Dietz and was always proud to share the birthday with the great Abraham Lincoln. He was baptized and confirmed at Atonement Lutheran Church and attended Syracuse schools.Bob joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 and served seven years for his country He married Marion Derduk in 1956 and lived in Liverpool, New York, where he was active in his church and in the Masonic Lodge there. He became a 32nd degree Mason.Bob and his family moved to Lake Havasu City in 1976. He worked in sales with the Gold Digger, Schoblom's radio station, Lake Havasu Herald, Havasu Office Supply, State Compensation Fund and retired while working for London Bridge Insurance.He was active in the first Lions Club, serving as president one year and on many community committees. He and his family joined Mount Olive Lutheran Church, where Bob served on many committees including church council, worship board, head usher, chairman of the Columbarium board and asdirector of Boy Scout Troop 55.His wife, Marion, of 53 years, son Kirk, of Phoenix, niece Sharon (Bob) Storrier of Syracuse, NY; nephews, Michael (Suzanne) Busse of Manlius, NY; Gary Busse of Chittenango, NY; and many friends, survive Bob.His mother and father, stepfather Les Turner, and his sister and brother-in-law Arlene and Harold Busse precede him in death.A memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with inurnment in the church columbarium. Pastor James Price will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Memorials may be given to Mount Olive Lutheran Church designated funds, 2170 Havasupai Blvd. or New Hope Hospice, 500 N. Lake Havasu Ave. Ste.
