James Clay Hughes passed away March 11, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 65. He was born on July 31, 1944 in Mangum, OK.James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married his beloved bride Helen Meyer on December 18, 1973 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 15 years ago from Oregon City, OR. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and learning. Most important to him were his family and his dogs. James loved to talk about his childhood, growing up in Oklahoma. As a teenager he loved listening to Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. James leaves behind his loving wife Helen Hughes; sons, Jimmy Hughes and Frankie Jones; daughter Kelly Burnette; brothers Lester Hughes, Eddie Hughes and Howard Hughes; two sisters Cathy Fleming and Susan Cochems; six grandchildren Ashli, Garret, Trevor, Chaly, James "Buddy", Katie and one great granddaughter Faith.He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram and Jesse (Smith) Hughes and his two grandmothers Maddie Smith and Lucy HughesThoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory,
