Larry Wayne Williams, born in Colton, California May 20, 1937 to Mamie and Jaye Williams, passed away on April 11, 2010 after a continuing fight with pneumonia. After graduating from Colton High School in 1956, Larry joined the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1959 while in Alaska, Larry married Linda Williams, also from Colton. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Larry and Linda moved back to their hometown of Colton where Larry worked for the railroad and then B.F. Goodrich. In 1964, Larry was hired by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy, Detective and Sergeant by his retirement March 30, 1991. He earned his degree at San Bernardino Valley College and UCLA, while working as a deputy. Larry was on the Board of Directors for the Terrace Water Company for many years. He was a member of Footprinter's Association #75, Fraternal Order of the Elks #2399 and Angler's United. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and especially cruises. Larry and Linda have been married for 51 years. They had two children and three grandchildren. He moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1992 after spending all but the four years he served his country in Colton, CA. He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams of Lake Havasu City, AZ; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Jill Williams of Bishop, CA; and daughter, Lori Williams of Lake Havasu City, AZ. He also had three amazing grandchildren that he was extremely proud of, Amanda, Courtney and Joshua Williams; two sisters, Dolores Crist of Somerset, KY and Judy Beach of Beaumont, CA.
