Laurence Joseph O'Brien passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 85. Larry, as he was known to this family and friends, was born on November 5, 1924 in St. Paul, MN to Laurence and Margaret (Reilly) O'Brien.Larry proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Larry went to work for McDonnell-Douglas and retired after 40 years as an expediter. Larry and his wife Lois moved to Lake Havasu City 18 years ago from Reseda, CA. They attended Our Lady of the Lake Church and Larry was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.Larry was loved by many and his quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all.Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years Lois; sons Richard Rutherford and his wife Janine of Stockton, CA, Larry O'Brien and his wife Patty of Northridge, CA, Kevin O'Brien and his wife Dee Dee of Valencia, CA and Ernie O'Brien of Las Vegas, NV; daughters Pat De Pasquale and her husband Rob of Granada Hills, CA, Cassie Fillmore and her husband Matt of Simi Valley, CA, Elsie Georgio of Valenica, CA, Margie Pilney and her husband Shawn of Bakersfield, CA and Traci Engel and her husband Brent of Sioux Falls, SD; 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his son Sean Timothy O'Brien and sister Peggy Demien.Rosary will be said at Our Lady of the Lake Church on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10:30 am with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00 am.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
