Obituary of Imogene BURNETT

Please share a memory of Imogene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Imogene Burnett born August 14, 1925 died May 30, 2010, with her daughter by her side. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Imogene was born in Iuka, a small town in mid-southern Illinois to Agnes and Evan Littrell. She grew up on a farm during the depression and was used to hard work and making do with what she had.Imogene married Chester Burnett on October 9, 1948 and they celebrated 55 years together. They settled in Worth, Illinois a suburb of Chicago where they raised their daughter and son. Imogene worked hard to make a home for everyone. Imogene and Chester loved to fish and it was the love of fishing that brought them to Lake Havasu. They eventually settled on Lake Havasu in the summer of 2001. Sadly, Chester died on November 20, 2003 and didn't have time to fully appreciate their new lifestyle. Their son Don also preceded them in death on September 21, 1989 at the age of 37. He left behind 3 sons and a daughter.Imogene also loved crocheting, quilting by hand, playing bingo and watching baseball. She often combined her hobbies, setting up shop in the living room to crochet or quilt with either the Chicago Cubs or, more recently, the Arizona Diamondbacks on in the background. But she had her favorite announcers and if they weren't on, then she wouldn't watch the game---even if she liked the team. Imogene's love of crocheting and quilting were just two of the many treasures she passed along to her family.Imogene leaves behind daughter Terry Januszewski and her husband Dan; granddaughter Beth Vilchuck and her husband Mark; granddaughter Julie Towner and granddaughter Sharon Januszewski. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren,Casey Smith, Kyle and Katrice Vilchuck. She is and will be deeply missed by all.A simple graveside service will be held at the Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 4 at 10:30 AM. All are welcome. Donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
