Maude Montbriand passed away July 24, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 88. She was born to Thomas and Maud (Liveria) Gregory on August 20, 1921 in London, England.Maude met her husband Alfred Montbriand in England during World War II. He was an American Soldier. They married and came "across the pond" to live in America. Maude was an avid reader with a particular passion for history. She loved to sew and in the last few years began a new hobby of beading. Maude was a gentle, soft-spoken woman. She was the strength behind it all. She was also an excellent cook with desserts being her specialty. Her grandchildren thought she made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.Maude leaves behind her beloved family, sons, Mark Montbriand of Freeland, MI, Raymond Montbriand of Hazel Park, MI, Timothy Montbriand of Lake Havasu City and Charles Montbriand of Plattsburg, NY; daughters, Joan Slater of Valparaiso, IN and Marian Blaesser of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Joan Kime of Griffith, IN and Betty Flatley of London, England; twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Montbriand; son Andrew Montbriand; brother Thomas Gregory and sister Doris Cooper.And, as the Cock crew, those who stood beforeThe Tavern shouted - "Open then the Door!You know how little while we have to stay,And, once departed, may return no more."
