Lyle Lester Ernst was called home to his heavenly Father on September 25, 2010. He was born to Lester and Evelyn Ernst on September 6, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.Lyle was the co-founder of the Havasu Gold Seekers and an active member of the Lake Havsu Gem & Mineral Society. He was the happiest when searching for gold or telling someone where to find it. Most conversations revolved around gold prospecting. He had a heart of gold, a good and kind man.He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy Ernst: mother-in-law, Marcie Zastrow: brother-in law and sister-in-law, Joseph Panhans Jr. and Karen Panhans; godson and nephew, Paul Panhans; nephew, Jeffery Panhans and his wife Mary Panhans; sister, Lydia Bailey; niece, Rosie Herman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Merrick.A memorial mass will take place Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, Mass donations in Lyle's name may be made to Our Lady of Lake Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Ave., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
