Kirby Cawley Otteros
Kirby Cawley Otteros age 59 of Lake Havasu City, AZ died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Celebration Community Church 111 Longhorn St. Bastrop, TX.
Kirby was born July 29, 1954 to Fred "Fritz" and Joan "Josie" (Cawley) Otteros. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1972 and furthered his education at DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa where he studied business. Kirby married Susan Erixson in 1974 at Cottage Grove, Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, IA. They were blessed with a daughter, Tiffany and a son, Ryan. During Kirby's career as a diesel mechanic he worked in Iowa Falls and Ankeny, Iowa and Austin, TX. In 2010 Kirby and Sue retired to Lake Havasu City, AZ
Beside his wife, Susan, and children, Tiffany (Stef Finley) of Elgin, TX, Ryan (Jazzel) of Del Valle, TX Kirby is survived by four grandchildren, Nikolai, Deklan, Isaias and Leyla. Mother-in-law, Nadine Calhoon of Des Moines, IA; sister, Candace (Craig)Twedt and brother, Martin (Debra) Otteros of Williams, IA; sister-in-law, Claudine (Wayne) Herrod of Maumelle, AR; brother-in-law, Jim (Betsy) Erixson of Van Couver, WA and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Celeste Sheilds and father-in-law, Stuart Calhoon.
Kirby will always be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and his generous giving spirit.
